Drupal Update Time
I've already been spoiled by Drupal 7. I check all of my sites and those I manage regularly but I admit I like the new module upload feature on Drupal 7. I figure I'm getting spoiled because a quick visit to my Drupal 6 sites today showed a few more outdated modules than usual. Of course, I was a little distracted by the festivities of the past few weeks, too.
SEO Blogging Tip: Avoid Keyword Stuffing
In our early blogging years most of my writing friends and I didn't worry about keywords. We simply wrote what was on our minds. There were fewer of us and it was easier to get attention. Today, bloggers and website owners are facing much stiffer competition and are using search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to help earn a higher page rank in search results. The results can be comical and at times unreadable. Unfortunately, this can actually hurt page rank. So, how much is too much when it comes to keyword use?
Drupal and Theming
Drupal is for girls. It is meant to be powerful, not pretty. There are days when I enjoy polishing themes for my sites and there are days when it is an absolute chore. I would be lying if I said otherwise. The theme I currently use for this site is almost complete. I have a few other colors to change for internal site messages and I will start on another customization.
The base theme I'm working with is Shallow Grunge. I've used it before and enjoy the simplicity. The two sites shown on the right sidebar are both using Marinelli as a base theme. That is by far my favorite theme to work with in Drupal 6.
Using Webform to create an email tool in Drupal
One of the tools that is essential for almost any organization or campaign is letter or email writing tools. This provides an email service that can be customized and themed and keeps all email addresses in one location, instead of requiring a monthly subscription to a mail service like Mail Chimp or Constant Contact.
